CLASSES
Armor style: medium
Flashy and elegant, Blade Brandiers are stylish swordsmen who seamlessly weave combos together to make quick work of their opponents. Although they lack the means to aid their allies with buffs and other support skills, their versatility and high attack makes them an asset in any party configuration.
Strengths: High attack, easy combos, solo-friendly
Weaknesses: Low defense, no support skills, no magic
Armor style: medium
The only thing better than one blade is two blades. If you fancy yourself the main character of your own life, you might feel a certain kinship with the Twin Blade class. Twin Blades are the fastest of the physical DPS classes and their combos are effortless to pull off, but they don’t excel in any particular area. With stats evenly distributed across the board, Twin Blades are a solid choice for those who want a relaxed gaming experience and aren’t concerned with the current meta.
Strengths: Simple gameplay, easy combos, wide skill variety
Weaknesses: Middling stats, not solo-friendly, lacks powerful skills
Armor style: light
If spellcasting is more your speed, then Wavemaster is the class for you. What they severely lack in physical attack and defense is more than made up for in their wide arsenal of elemental spells and status effects made to cripple foes. They boast the highest magical attack of all classes in Fragment, making them formidable allies in combat... so long as they don’t get hit. In exchange for the ability to utilize every element of magic, Wavemasters lack access to each element’s strongest spells.
Strengths: Flexible, high magical attack, easy to play
Weaknesses: Low defense, low physical attack, not solo-friendly
Armor style: various
The special snowflakes of Fragment, the Adept Rogue is a jack-of-all-trades whose gimmick is the ability to freely swap between three classes of their choosing. The tradeoff? None of those classes are as powerful as they normally are. As a consequence, Adept Rogues are considered relatively weak, but in the hands of a skilled player, they can be exceptionally powerful. The Adept Rogue will have all three classes available to them from the start, and these classes will all scale off of their level so there is no need to level up each class separately.
Strengths: Flexible, high utility, fun to play
Weaknesses: Requires high skill, middling stats, expensive to equip
Armor style: light
Excelling at afflicting status ailments on their enemies and buffing their allies, Macabre Dancers are a highly versatile support class. Wielding a pair of bladed fans, this class supports their allies through the art of dance, bolstering their strength and healing their wounds. Still, it’s better to keep these graceful dancers off the front lines as they’re sorely lacking in both HP and defense.
Strengths: High utility, heals and buffs, flashy
Weaknesses: Not solo-friendly, requires high skill, difficult combos
Armor style: heavy
Edge Punishers are glass cannons that attack quickly and effortlessly string one combo into the next. The price they pay for such high strength and speed is a sore lack of HP and defense. Keep a healer or a stock of potions on hand and the Edge Punisher will quickly and efficiently make mincemeat of any opponent.
Strengths: High attack, very fast, easy combos
Weaknesses: Low defense, low HP, not beginner-friendly
Armor style: medium
The Flick Reaper’s strength is in their ability to engage multiple enemies at once, stunlocking and knocking them back in order to keep their allies out of harm’s way. This class has a high skill ceiling that makes them difficult to master, but if you put in the time and effort, you’ll find that the Flick Reaper is an asset in every combat situation.
Strengths: Can stunlock foes, can knock back foes, high utility
Weaknesses: Requires high skill, low attack, not beginner-friendly
Armor style: light
Harvest Clerics are Fragment’s dedicated healers and excel at healing and support magic. There is no party configuration that doesn’t benefit from the Harvest Cleric’s powerful healing magic and their wide array of buffs, but they also boast a small collection of magic attacks that offer them some combat utility. As with most mages, they can’t take much damage before falling in combat.
Strengths: High utility, heals and buffs, beginner-friendly
Weaknesses: Low HP, low defense, not solo-friendly
Armor style: heavy
This heavily-armored class uses polearms and boasts high defense along with a wide array of powerful skills. The tradeoff? They’re slow, weak to magic, and highly predictable. The Lord Partizan might not be flashy, but their difficulty to kill makes them an asset to any team.
Strengths: High attack, high defense, high HP
Weaknesses: Simple gameplay, lack of combos, very slow
Armor style: light
Mages who specialize in attack magic and cripple their enemies with debuffs and status ailments. This class uses grimoires, and while they know some basic healing spells, their true strength lies in taking down the enemy and making them easy targets for their allies.
Strengths: High utility, high magical attack, beginner-friendly
Weaknesses: Lack of combos, not solo-friendly, no support skills
Armor style: medium
A DPS class that specializes in long-ranged attacks. Steam Gunners excel at crowd control and dish out loads of damage over time by whittling away at their enemies. While they struggle to effectively work on their own, they provide a lot of utility in a party and offer enough damage output to make up for their shortcomings.
Strengths: Crowd control, very fast, ranged DPS
Weaknesses: Low defense, not solo-friendly, no support skills
Armor style: medium
As the name implies, Tribal Grapplers use their own fists as weapons. Similar to the Twin Blade, they’re quick and agile, but boast higher attack stats and lower defense. However, their ability to stunlock and ground foes makes up nicely for their flaws. It takes practice and skill to make effective use of the Tribal Grappler’s skillset and complex combo system, but in the hands of a skilled player, few classes are stronger.
Strengths: Very fast, great single-target damage, high attack
Weaknesses: Difficult combos, low HP, low defense
